The great hidden factor in the developing middle East situation is what's been happening in Saudi Arabia. Saudi keeps things very private. There are whispers of things, but generally one doesn't hear very much about the goings on there. I think that everyone gives the Saudis the benefit of the doubt, by assuming that the Saudis, have Saudi Arabia under control. Sure they are asserting their interests regionally, which gives the impression that Saudi is stronger than it actually is. Because the Saudis have spawned a series of conflicts that completely surround the KSA. The surrounding conflicts, + media blackout in the heart of Saudi, changes of leadership, changes in the line of succession, and most importantly the US/NATO/KSA/ISR 'Hegemony or Bust': war OF terror. I don't think Saudi Arabia will survive the rebellions, family infighting, wars, & hypocrisy/legitimacy issues.

Syria, Iraq, Iran, Qatar, gulf of Aden, Yemen, Red Sea, are important but the centre has rotted out.
